Friends of the School
Supporting St. Godric’s Catholic Primary School through fundraising, community events and opportunities that enrich school life for all pupils.
Welcome
Welcome to St. Godric’s Friends of the School. We would like to start by thanking everyone who has supported Friends of the School over the past years. Your support is greatly appreciated and we hope you can continue.
Despite only having five members on the committee, we will continue our fundraising efforts and would love to welcome new members or hear fresh ideas to help us continue supporting the school community.
If you are interested in becoming a member of St. Godric’s Friends of the School, or would like to support future events, please contact the school office by email or telephone.
Supporting Our School Community
St. Godric’s Friends of the School have brought the community together through many special events and activities which reflect the important role they play within school life.
Events organised have included Autumn Fancy Dress Discos, Macmillan Coffee Afternoons, Film Nights and whole-school cinema trips for parents, staff and children, as well as the highly successful Summer and Christmas Fayres enjoyed by the wider community each year.
Funds raised by the Friends group have helped provide valuable school resources, including the outdoor story seat, furniture for outdoor learning and contributions towards educational visits and class trips.
Story Garden
The Story Garden area is now complete and was officially opened during the Family Fun Day on 10th July by Father Ian Jackson.
The project required a huge amount of time, dedication and support from the community, and the transformation has created a wonderful outdoor space for pupils to enjoy.
Friends of the School would like to thank everyone who helped make the transformation possible, with special thanks to Durham Tees Valley Compost for donating the wood chippings free of charge and to Woodcraft for Landscapes for supplying the beautiful plants.
