Rights Respecting School

The Rights Respecting Schools Award supports schools across the UK to embed children’s human rights in their ethos and culture.  The award recognises achievement in putting the UN Convention on the Right of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of a school’s practice to improve well-being and help all children and young people realise their potential.

Recognition of Commitment Award

Success!

We are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded our Recognition of Commitment from UNICEF.  This was achieved through hard work and determination of our school community, led by our fantastic RRSA steering group.

We are now actively working towards our Level 1 award and hope to achieve this standard in the autumn term.

Well Done everyone!

Classroom Charters

Each class now has a classroom charter which highlights a number of relevant articles from the convention of the rights of a child.  The charters also state the adult’s and child’s role in realising those rights.

Through collaborative work in an assembly, the children created a whole school charter which highlights the importance of our rights respecting ethos. Together, we have also created charters for lunchtime, playtime and breakfast club.
